From The FreeP: BU beats U.S. NTDP in scrimmage

The Boston University men’s hockey team’s final tune-up for the 2016-17 season went about as well as anyone could have hoped.

Slated against the U.S. National Team Development Program on Thursday night at Agganis Arena, the Terriers skated to an 8-2 win. Patrick Harper (three goals) and Bobo Carpenter (two goals, three assists) stole the show, while Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson and Chad Krys both chipped in three helpers.

BU traveled late last night for its game on Saturday evening at Colgate University, its first NCAA contest of the year. Before then, we have some articles from last night’s game, as well as a link to our weekend preview, which includes some thoughts on Colgate.

  1. Nick wrote the recap, which includes some intriguing thoughts from Coach Quinn.
  2. Jonathan wrote a sider on Jake Oettinger and Connor LaCouvee. Spoiler alert: Quinn isn’t giving answers as to who may start against Colgate.
  3. And last but not least, here’s our preview again.

  1. incredible skill and speed demonstrated by the terriers in this game, never saw so many talented players on one college hockey team. Harper looks terrific and makes the first line awesome. Defense looks solid with several options for offense as well with McAvoy and Fabbro.

  2. I really want to temper expectations, but boy oh boy is it hard to contain my excitement for this season! These kids are really cooking already. I can’t wait to see what they look like starting this Saturday.

  3. i am psyched too for this season. keep telling myself they are freshman and they will hit a wall at some point during this long season. then i think, just imagine if max letenov was on this teams too? holy smokes

hey, has anyone heard from Ozzie?

  4. Elite freshmen don’t necessarily hit a wall. Eichel didn’t LOL. Of course, Harper might only score two goals on certain nights.
