BU hung tough with the Golden Gophers, but it’s just about impossible to win when you spend more than 10 minutes killing penalties against an offensive juggernaut. Minnesota went 3-for-7 on the man-advantage, and BU was lucky it wasn’t 6-for-7 given the amount of offensive pressure the Gophers were able to generate on the power play.
The Terriers are officially dancing. It didn’t take too much time early on this season for that to be a foregone conclusion, but a Hockey East Championship last Saturday confirmed it. Under 24 hours later, the Terriers’ matchup was made official during Sunday night’s NCAA selection show.
We can all thank God and Dylan Peterson for that. A dominant offense headlined by BU’s veteran players and backed by Drew Commesso gave BU its first weekend sweep since Jan. 29 with a 3-0 shutout victory over the University of Vermont Catamounts (9-18-5, 4-15-3 HE).
The Boston University men’s hockey team (20-10-0, 14-6-0 Hockey East) hosted the Merrimack College Warriors (18-21-1, 13-8-0 HE) tonight at Agganis Arena where they lost 4-3 in overtime and got swept for the first time this season.
Although the compete and drive was there for the Terriers Friday night, their offensive struggles continued in a 4-1 loss to the Merrimack Warriors (16-12-1, 11-8-0 HE).
With the tournament now behind them, the No. 5 Boston University men’s hockey team (20-8-0, 14-4-0 Hockey East) has the opportunity to get back on track in a home-and-home series with the Merrimack College Warriors (16-12-1, 11-8-0 HE).
The No.5 Boston University men’s hockey team (20-8-0, 14-4-0 Hockey East) fell 4-2 to the Boston College Eagles (10-12-6, 5-8-5 HE) in the smaller stage of the second Monday in February, the first back-to-back loss for BU this season.
For the first time in the tournament’s 70 iterations, the Terriers and Eagles will compete against each other in the consolation round. Puck drop is set for 4:30pm at TD Garden.
It’s finally time. 358 days separate Dylan Peterson’s late-game heroics and the third meeting of the 2022-23 season between the Boston University Terriers (20-6-0, 14-4-0 HE) and the Northeastern Huskies (13-10-3, 11-5-2 HE).
The countdown has officially begun. There are five days until the Boston University Terriers take the ice at TD Garden for the start of the 70th Men’s Beanpot Tournament.
