The Terriers showed what they’re made of tonight and battled until the final horn for the 2-1 win over Cornell University (21-11-2) that punched their ticket to Tampa. The Boston University men’s hockey team (29-10-0) is in the Frozen Four, and boy are they feeling good.
Boston University faced the pressure of elimination, the heat of an offensive juggernaut and the challenge of an unfamiliar arena on Thursday.
Fueled by a two-goal, characteristic performance from Lane Hutson, the Boston University men’s hockey team (27-10-0, 19-6-0 Hockey East) clinched the 2023 Hockey East Championship title in a 3-2 overtime win against the Merrimack College Warriors (23-13-1, 16-9-0 HE).
The Terriers made their return to the TD Garden after having seemingly recovered from the malaise that was onset by the Beanpot. After a sketchy 60 minutes, BU found its game in overtime to beat the Providence College Friars 2-1.
The Terriers suited up in their home whites for the last time (…at home) in the team’s first game of the Hockey East playoffs with a matinee matchup against the University of Vermont Catamounts (11-20-5 5-17-3 HE).
Boston University men’s hockey head coach Jay Pandolfo drew back to a fourth line combination — Jamie Armstrong, Sam Stevens and Devin Kaplan — he hadn’t dialed up since early January on Saturday night.
It was senior night at Agganis Arena as the Boston University men’s hockey team (23-10-0, 17-6-0 Hockey East) honored its 11 class of 2023 members ahead of besting the Providence College Friars (14-12-7, 9-8-6 HE) by a score of 6-4.

Led by the buzzing junior forward Dylan Peterson, the Boston University men’s hockey team (21-10-0, 15-6-0 Hockey East) got their swagger back in a 5-3 victory over the University of Vermont Catamounts (9-17-5, 4-14-3 HE) tonight at Gutterson Fieldhouse.
The Boston University women’s hockey team (11-19-3, 9-15-3 Hockey East) lost 5-4 in a hard-fought battle to Merrimack College (8-24-2, 5-20-2 HE) in the first round of the Hockey East tournament.
