The Top Five Moments from BU’s Friday Loss to Merrimack

Attacking on the penalty kill with fellow freshmen Case McCarthy and Sam Stevens, Robert Mastrosimone fought past goaltender Jere Huhtamaa to put BU up 1-0 less than three minutes in.

Dockery’s missile levels it up

With Merrimack turning the tides late in the opening frame, Dominic Dockery unloaded on a shot from the point that found its way in inside of three minutes to play in the first, making it 1-1 at the first break.

Irvine knocks one in shorthanded

After stealing the puck for an unsuccessful shorthanded breakaway three minutes into the second period, Tyler Irvine put one in with a follow-up effort just moments after to put Merrimack up 2-1.

Drevitch follows suit ten minutes later

BU had a power play with six minutes left in the second but Merrimack had other ideas once again as Logan Drevitch skated in and fired home the Warriors’ second shorthanded goal of the period to make it 3-1.

Holway and Kimens seal it

BU didn’t have much going in the third period and Merrimack made matters worse with two well-placed shots five minutes apart from Patrick Holway and Regan Kimens to make it 5-1 with five unanswered MC goals.
