BU sweeps major Hockey East Awards

The Terriers were well represented at the Hockey East Awards Reception Thursday at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge, with Jack Eichel taking home both Hockey East Player and Rookie of the Year while David Quinn was named the conference’s Coach of the Year.

Other members of the team were honored as well, with BU players accounting for five of the 10 names on the conference’s First and Second Team All-Stars.

A few ICYMI notes

– The results from the Hockey East award ceremony differed from the ballot posted by the Hockey East Writers and Broadcasters Association. Here’s a look at that list, as well as whom the Boston Hockey Blog voted for.

– Conor sat down with freshman forward Nikolas Olsson and talked about hockey, chipotle, Toy Story and more.

– The Terriers added two new recruits over the last week in defenseman Shane Switzer and fellow blueliner Logan Cockerill.

-On the topic of recruits, looks like Shane Starrett, who was formerly committed to BU, has committed to the U.S. Air Force Academy for 2015-16.
