Terriers ranked No. 1 in latest USCHO.com poll

The Boston University men’s hockey team is back atop the national polls.

After a 5-1 win over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the Terriers (11-3-2, 7-1-2 Hockey East) claimed the No. 1 ranking in this week’s USCHO.com poll. This is the second time this season that BU has a hold on the top spot in the nation. The University of North Dakota, last week’s top team, fell to No. 2 after splitting a weekend series with the University of Denver.

The 2014-15 Terriers became just the sixth team in the history of the program to finish the first half of the regular season with at least 11 wins. The last time this feat was accomplished — the 2008-09 season — BU won a national title.

  1. Good job boys but the problem with being #1 u will get everyone A game. Because they all wanna beat the top team with that being said we must and have to come out with better energy game in game out cuz the other teams def will… I’m confident we will do that keep up the good work and coach Quinn and staff excellent work!! Go Bu!!

  2. YES!!! I’m so happy the RPI game didn’t turn into that Dartmouth fiasco. Anyway, happy holidays to everyone here on the Boston Hockey Blog. I’m looking forward to hanging out here at #1 for a while (fingers crossed),

  3. Yea, need more energy at the start all right. Also need a quasi tough guy to get the team going once in a while.

  4. Great comment big boy

  5. i think olson can provide some muscle.

  6. Yes indeed Peter. Olsson will add lots of physicality to BU’s game plan. Of course the impending return of Baillargeon is going to be highly impactful. It’s pretty impressive that we’ve gotten this far without our #2 center and last year’s leading scorer.
