-Senior captain Matt Grzelcyk, just after his return to BU following surgery recovery, earned Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week honors, the league announced on Monday. Grzelcyk tallied three points in the team’s weekend sweep of Northeastern.
-New USCHO national rankings also came out Monday afternoon — BU stayed at No. 11, but Providence College, which BU faces this weekend, jumped up to No. 1 after starting the season 6-0-1.
-This is pretty cool: my Online Journalism professor (and Andrew’s former JO 304 prof), Nick Barber, just got a new 360-degree camera. He also happens to be a big BU hockey fan, and he recorded this video after the Terriers beat Northeastern University at Agganis Arena on Friday evening.
-A few fun facts from @BurntBoats (a great follow for BU hockey fans, if you don’t already):
Through 8 games last yr ORegan and Ahti had 19 total points on Eichel’s line. Through 8 games this yr they have 19 total points. Eichel who?

BU’s top 6 D have a total of 4.52 PPG so far this year. 2nd best team is more than a half PPG behind. 4th best over a full PPG behind. — BurntBoats (@BurntBoats) November 9, 2015
-Tweet of the weekend?:
What a win today in Buffalo and a great win in Boston seeing @TerrierHockey complete the sweep of northeastern. #TheBetterDog

did you get a chance to ask coach quinn any of those questions from the fans? love to hear what he said
Hey — we actually answer those reader questions in our weekly podcast. Here’s last week’s: https://hockey.dailyfreepress.com/2015/11/06/boston-hockey-pod-the-captain-is-back/ We use our knowledge of the team and whatever we learn from our weekly convos with Coach Quinn to answer those questions. So we actually don’t ask Coach Quinn the specific reader questions, per se, but we try to answer what you guys ask as best we can.
ok, thanks
I’m so happy to see #5 come back in such an impactful way. Congrats to Matt on his accolade this week .. and wishing him many, many more to come. As far as the Boston Hockey Pod program … it’s really quite enjoyable to listen to each week. Now I have two radio shows to follow at the end of the week … the Podcast and Inside BU Hockey. Good job to Sarah, Judy and Andrew! BTW, will you guys stop by the pre-game party at MSG on 11/28? I think it will be in the Delta 360 Lounge. It’s always a blast.
We can try and stop by if they let us in! Haha. Thanks for the compliment, too — we love recording the podcast!

when the team is in new york, are they going to do that clinic for the kids like in the past? if so can you find out where and when it is taking place? i would love to watch it
I can certainly ask!
Any idea if the MSG game will be streamed online? In the past it has been but nothing is listed on the BU website.
HI Sarah. I think alumni relations” is putting on that event … the pre-game party. I will talk to them (and you can too) and see if you, Judy and Andrew can take part. You can tell them that you’re alumni-in-training LOL.
Haha I love it! (But it’s terrifying to think of how close I am to being an alumna…)
No fear Sarah; You’re still super-young! Embrace the transition! Personally, I’ve had more fun as an alum (coming back to campus) than I did as a student.
