With Bostonians celebrating St. Patrick’s Day on Friday, The No. 5 Boston University men’s hockey team hopes that their third trip to TD Garden will be the lucky charm. At 4p.m., the Terriers will face the Providence College Friars in the Hockey East tournament semifinals.

That elation, which took place as the BU men’s hockey team walked back to the locker room after completing a sweep of the University of Vermont, captured why this weekend was so important. BU’s two wins over UVM injected life into a locker room that was beginning to reel.
Currently on a four-game losing streak, the Boston University men’s hockey team (20-10-0, 14-6-0 Hockey East) will seek to correct course in the penultimate series of the regular season against the University of Vermont Catamounts (9-16-5, 4-13-3 HE).
Although the compete and drive was there for the Terriers Friday night, their offensive struggles continued in a 4-1 loss to the Merrimack Warriors (16-12-1, 11-8-0 HE).
The No.5 Boston University men’s hockey team (20-8-0, 14-4-0 Hockey East) fell 4-2 to the Boston College Eagles (10-12-6, 5-8-5 HE) in the smaller stage of the second Monday in February, the first back-to-back loss for BU this season.
