The Terriers struggled to generate any kind of offense in the first two periods of Saturday’s matinee with Providence (17-10-3, 13-8-2 Hockey East) at Walter Brown Arena. But when BU (20-9-1, 17-5-1 HE) finally broke through — with a Sydney Healey goal partway through the third period — it never looked back in a 3-1 win.
With the program’s first Hockey East regular season title in 12 seasons in sight, BU hosts two of the league’s best teams in a critical split-series.
BU women’s hockey defeated Providence on Friday afternoon at Agganis Arena, but head coach Tara Watchorn thought her team lacked attention to detail.
Off to its best nine-game start since 2014, the Boston University women’s hockey team is first in Hockey East and has won five straight games. Fresh off a home sweep of Syracuse University, the Terriers (6-3, 4-1 HE) are set for two games against Providence College.
