The return of the Winter Classic to Boston saw outdoor hockey return to America’s most historic ballpark. With that, the idea of outdoor college hockey could not be removed from the mind of almost every college hockey fan in the New England area and beyond.
The Boston University women’s hockey team (7-13-0, 6-10-0 Hockey East) headed to Matthews Arena this afternoon for a matinee matchup with the Northeastern University Huskies (18-2-1, 14-2-1 HE) where they were shut out 6-0.
Following a 5-1 victory over Air Force on Friday, the Boston University men’s hockey team (13-6-0, 8-4-0 Hockey East) faced the Michigan Tech University Huskies (14-6-3, 7-4-3 CCHA) in the Desert Hockey Classic title game where they fell 3-2.
The great outdoors welcomed the Boston University women’s hockey team (7-13-0, 6-10-0 Hockey East) Friday evening as they took the field against the Holy Cross Crusaders (3-18-1, 2-14-0 HE) at Fenway Park. The Crusaders got back in the win column for the first time since Oct. 8, defeating the Terriers 3-2 on the biggest stage of the regular season.
The Boston University men’s hockey team (12-5-0, 8-4-0 Hockey East) was back in action tonight at Walter Brown Arena against the Harvard University Crimson (8-3-1, 7-1-0 ECAC) in a top-10 matchup where the Terriers came away with a 2-1 overtime victory.
Following a deflating 9-6 loss against cross-town rival Boston College, the No. 7 Boston University men’s hockey team (11-5-0, 8-4-0 Hockey East) headed across I-90 to the XL center in Hartford, Connecticut for their third matchup with the No. 8 University of Connecticut Huskies (11-5-3, 8-4-2 HE) this season.
The Battle of Comm Ave was reignited for the first time this season at Conte Forum as the Boston University Terriers (10-5-0, 7-4-0 Hockey East) faced the Boston College Eagles (6-5-4, 5-3-3 HE) in the matchup’s 288th rendit
The Boston University men’s hockey team (10-4-0, 7-3-0 Hockey East) took out their brooms in the Saturday night matchup of a home-and-home series with the University of New Hampshire Wildcats (3-13-1, 0-11-1 HE). The Terriers dominated the game from puck drop and were rewarded with six points in a tight Hockey East conference.
On Friday night, the Boston University women’s hockey team (6-12-0, 5-9-0 Hockey East) fell short to the University of Maine Black Bears (11-10-0, 8-6-0 HE) at home to extend their goalless streak to three straight games.
The Boston University men’s hockey team (9-4-0, 6-3-0 Hockey East) looked to secure three very attainable conference points Friday night against the UNH Wildcats (3-12-1, 0-10-1 HE).
