The No. 2 Boston University men’s hockey team beat No. 17 Quinnipiac University 3-2 during overtime in a physical and fast-paced game in Hamden, Connecticut on Sunday. Freshman forward Shane Bowers got the overtime tally while sophomore forward Patrick Harper added two more goals to this season and was subsequently named Hockey East’s Player of the Week.
We only have a recap this week, but will return this Friday and Saturday nights with a plethora of articles when the Terriers take on Minnesota State and former goaltender Connor LaCouvee will make his way back to Agganis Arena for a few days.
Also a side note: there were some technical difficulties with WordPress at Quinnipiac in terms of linking up the live blog and Nikki’s computer wasn’t cooperating. We’re sorry for any inconveniences caused and will be prepared in the future for road games, but everything is working now and please tune into the live blog this weekend!

I thought they played very well. Harper’s on a pace to score 100 points this season :). I’m looking forward to this weekend and my only complaint is that I wish we could get some more students to the game.
I was there and had a great time! It reminded me of the home game we lost to Merrimack last season. They (QU) seemed to win a lot more puck battles and made it very difficult to get grade-A chances. Of course in this game we fought back tremendously well and won. Harper was amazing! Former Terrier Brandon Fortunato played his usual smart game and his passing was remarkably smooth.
I agree with Dan about the student attendance … though it seems like a college sports problem in general. I hope BU athletics and the Office of Terrier Pride continue to aggressively market BU Hockey to BU students (particularly international students), BU alumni and to young families in Boston who want a great night of athletic entertainment at an extremely reasonable price (compare to the pros).
