This weekend the Boston University men’s hockey team held its first ever season opener in the month of September. The Terriers beat Union College 4-1 on Saturday night after a three-point (2g, 1a) performance from sophomore forward Patrick Harper and game-winning goal notched by sophomore defenseman Dante Fabbro.
On Sunday night, BU didn’t have the same luck against the University of Prince Edward Island during its exhibition game. After five minutes of overtime, the game ended in a 5-5 draw. However, the Terriers continued to have a productive power play with four power-play goals after scoring two during opening night, and freshman forward Brady Tkachuk and sophomore defenseman Chad Krys each tallied three points.
BU’s next matchup will be against Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut at 2 p.m. on Sunday (Oct. 8). Tune in to the live blog for updates.

I was impressed with the tempo with which BU played. The freshman looked as promised very good. Goaltending was good. When you have the best goalie in the country that helps. I did not like the penalty kill I found they were standing still no clogging any lanes. I’m sure coach Quinn will fix it during practice this week. Nice job BU good first win.?
Was a little upset at the play on Sunday. They did not seem to care about the game at all. This was a very poor PEI team and they were in front in the last period. Younger players save Tkachuk did not show much drive. Out number one goalie must keep healthy.
Yeah, that Sunday game really bothered me. I remember being there last October 1st and seeing Harper score that Texas hat trick (five goals). I will be going to the QU game. Anybody else?
Yes I will be making the drive from Boston let me know where u seating ill come say hello.. Go bu.. Big roy
Once again I have to disagree. I thought the freshman were fine I like crone on that first line. Farence cockeril amonte bowers crotty tkachuck all played well. I also was impressed by currys play Sunday . As I said earlier Jake is the best player in the country but I think max is pretty good as well. I think he struggled a bit Sunday. I also know what type of kid he is and he will be ready the next time his number is called. I don’t put much stock in Sunday it’s hard to play a scrimmage right after a regular season game. Bu was also without some top guys. Let’s stop nitpicking everything and understand this is a good team with potential. The mistakes that were made are coachable lets be positive
OK, let’s hope the Union game was indicative of what we have in store this season.
I really think its a little early in the season, but I like what I see so far.I heard the great Jack Parker say that he always tried to build his teams from the NET -out,I think BU has the best goalie in all of college hockey.GO BU!!!!
