What a night to be a Boston University men’s hockey fan.
With seven players in the gold medal game of the 2017 World Junior Championships, the Terriers welcomed Union College to Agganis Arena on Thursday night. While the group’s absence was felt, BU thrived, earning a 5-4 win over the Dutchmen in overtime.
Whether it was Connor LaCouvee in goal or a slew of unheralded players chipping in, the Terriers were electric at times. For a complete roundup of the night’s events, check out Nick’s recap.
The star of the night, however, was Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson. Slotting onto BU’s first line, the Swedish center netted a hat trick and was arguably the best player on the ice. You’ll want to hear what his teammates and head coach think of his play.

Crazy! JFK ties it up late in regulation and wins it OT to complete the hat trick! Undefeated at home in non-conference play (5-0-0). #GoBU pic.twitter.com/AN8yKYQHcA

JFK in a boot after the game. Says he's good though. So definitely don't worry about this tweet.
