The No. 3 Boston University men’s hockey team recovered from a slow to start to defeat the University of Maine, 3-1, on the road Friday night.
BU’s (6-1-1, 4-1-1 Hockey East) first line contributed all three goals and tallied five combined points. Freshman forward Jack Eichel extended his point streak to eight games when he assisted on junior forward Danny O’Regan’s shorthanded goal at the end of the second period.

I know what site I’m going to be checking out at 1:30 on Monday … uscho.com. Perhaps a #1 ranking in the weekly poll? It’s early in the season but not too early to be buying into BU Hockey’s monumental turnaround.
How the bleep are we still only #3 after the first and second ranked teams lost games this past weekend? Oh well, maybe it’s better that we stay hungry.
Absolutely right glen but its OK just keep doing what we doing and we will get there. What a tremendous turn around and I love to say I was there past few years when things were going bad and now seeing how much has changed ..proud of the whole team staff etc… All of those idiots bashing coach Quinn last year on here I nowhere to be found just shows your true fair weather fans on that note keep up the great start !!! Big Roy…#bu
Nice
As long as they keep winning that’s all that matters. Oh yeah BC losing is always good
LOL @ Glen!! No worries….in due time!! QUINN and Greely….genius recruiters. I love hearing him say it feels good to win when you still think you have yet to play your best hockey!
GO BU!!
Hi Allison! Yes, having “genius recruiters” is critical to our program. This is going to get even more important … as I expect the number of D-1 programs to grow in the next decade. I see that Arizona State will be starting D-1 play in a year or two. On one hand I like to see college hockey grow. On the other hand, I am not thrilled to see there being more schools competing for elite recruits.
Hi Glen!
I saw Let the BEST team win (the recruiting battle!)
This is going to be a great journey to the next National Championship
Yes Alison, I’m already enjoying the journey! Are you going to Hartford tomorrow? Anyone going to Hartford?
I went to Agganis last night. Didn’t go to Harford. Did you?
