It didn’t take long for the Boston University men’s ice hockey team to add another promising recruit to its program, as the Terriers have reportedly received a commitment from ’99-born defenseman David Farrance.
The news comes the same day as Patrick Harper’s announcement of his commitment to BU.
The Victor, New York, native had an impressive 2013-14 campaign with the Syracuse Stars of the United States Premier Hockey League U16 division, compiling 32 points (20 goals, 12 assists) in 28 games – tying him for the team lead in scoring.
The highly touted blueliner has already gotten off to a hot start this year with Syracuse, scoring four goals and adding an assist over the team’s first three games.
Noted for his speed and advanced ability to generate offense, Farrance should be a key contributor to future Terriers teams.

i would like to see them land a real top notch, first round draft choice goalie…. aka mr. curry. this would complement the high scoring team they are bringing in etc. D wins championship
o’c and mcguire so far have been inconsistent. i realize the team in front of them has been less than, but they have egregious concentration lapses
Go BU. let’s get back to our rightful perch as top dog in Boston and the nation

Now if we can get Chad Krys to come in we will have a pair that will bring back memories of Brian Gilmour and Peter McLachlan. Krys is the son of Mark Krys, a former BU defensman, and his wife Stacy, a former BU lacross player. From all reports, Chad is a very special player and a great kid.

We shall see. Plenty of kids have come in with big reps and then fizzled – aka Kurker, Holman etc. Or they change their minds and never get here. so i am trying to keep my expectations in check
I hope you are right. I love what quinn and staff are doing
Go BU

Farrance seems to be an off-the-charts talent who should be hearing his name called in the first round in the 2017 NHL Draft. Putting him in the mix with all these offensively gifted forwards that BU has coming in over the next several years will create goal-scoring like we’ve never seen before at Agganis.
