It took a strong penalty kill that had to halt one of the country’s toughest power-play unit on six occasions – including a five-on-three opportunity in the game’s first two minutes – an extra-attacker goal and an overtime hold, but the undefeated streak continues.
The No. 3 Boston University men’s hockey team tied rival No. 7 University of Maine 2-2 Saturday night at Agganis Arena in the teams’ first matchup since the Black Bears defeated the Terriers in last season’s Hockey East semifinals. This season’s Terriers (6-0-2, 4-0-2 HE) are now the first BU team to go undefeated in their first eight games since the 1977-78 NCAA championship squad.
