The Boston University women’s hockey season is complete, and the focus of the college hockey world has turned to draft declarations and transfer portal entries.

PWHL draft declarations
On May 15, the PWHL announced a list of 199 players eligible for the 2025 Draft, four of whom come from the Terriers’ roster.
Defender Tamara Giaquinto
Serving as captain, the graduate student led the Terriers’ defensive charge, playing in all 38 games. Giaquinto proved herself as a strong two-way player, recording a 9-9-18 line for BU this past season.
Forward Liv Haag
Haag consistently found herself in the BU line-up during her senior season, appearing in 33 games. She recorded a goal and four assists in her four seasons with the Terriers.
Goaltender Callie Shanahan
Shanahan boasted a .924 save percentage in the 2024-2025 season, starting in 29 games. She tallied 18 wins in net and posted a career-best three shutouts in her senior season.
Defender Julia Shaunessy
Appearing in all 38 games this past season, Shaunessy collected 18 points, including an assist on BU’s lone goal in the NCAA regional semifinal against Clarkson.
Transfer portal arrivals and departures
Forward Alex Law transfers to Quinnipiac
After two seasons with the Terriers, Law will be joining Quinnipiac next season, the Bobcats announced on April 8.
While the lacrosse move has not been officially announced, Law’s instagram bio reads “Quinnipiac University Hockey and Lacrosse,” so she will likely be playing both sports.
Law played in all 38 games this season, tallying three goals and six assists. In lacrosse, she was on the roster for the 2024 season but did not appear on the 2025 roster.
Defender Ella Belfry joins BU from Colgate
On April 14, BU announced on social media Belfry’s arrival to Terrier Town for the 2025-2026 season.
Belfry wrapped up her sophomore season for the Raiders with nine points (goal, eight assists) and an impressive 27 blocked shots across 36 games.
Forward Greta Henderson joins BU from St. Cloud State
The Terriers announced on May 3 that Henderson will join BU in the upcoming season.
Henderson posted a 3-6-9 line for St. Cloud State, playing in 35 games this past season.
