Pro signings

Jr. forward Ryan Greene signs with the Chicago Blackhawks

After three standout seasons with the Terriers, Greene signed a three-year, entry-level deal with the Blackhawks on April 13. He made his NHL debut in Chicago’s 4-3 shootout win over the Montreal Canadiens on April 14.

As a co-captain this year, Greene had a career year with 13 goals and 25 assists. In his three years at BU, he totaled 34 goals and 104 points.

Greene was drafted 57th overall by the Blackhawks in the 2022 NHL Draft.

Jr. forward Quinn Hutson signs with the Edmonton Oilers

Hutson was never selected in the NHL Draft, but he signed an entry-level contract with the Edmonton Oilers after a stellar three-year career with BU.

After signing a two-year deal with Edmonton, Hutson became the 98th Terrier to play in the NHL when he made his debut in the Oilers’ 5-0 loss to the Los Angeles Kings on April 14.

Jr. forward Devin Kaplan signs with the Philadelphia Flyers

Kaplan has officially signed an three year, ELC with the Flyers, and will report the to the Flyers for the remainder of the season.

The last of BU’s junior class from this season, Kaplan netted 25 goals and 64 points across his three years with the Terriers. The Bridgewater, New Jersey, native was picked in the third round (69th overall) by Philadelphia in the 2022 NHL Draft.

So. forward Shane Lachance expected to sign with the New Jersey Devils

After co-captaining the Terriers through their run to the national title game, Lachance is expected to sign an ELC with the Devils, according to a report from the Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli on Sunday.

Lachance, the grandson of legendary BU coach Jack Parker, was a sixth-round pick of the Edmonton Oilers in the 2021 Draft before his rights were traded to New Jersey on March 4.

Lachance posted a 12-18-30 line this season, including a goal in the national championship game against Western Michigan.

So. defenseman Tom Willander expected to sign with the Vancouver Canucks

After two seasons with BU, Willander is widely expected to sign an ELC with the Vancouver Canucks.

That has not happened yet, though, and Elite Prospects’ Cam Robinson reported that Willander is back at BU finishing up classes instead of joining Vancouver for the last few games of the season.

Although Willander and the Canucks have not come to an agreement on a deal, Frank Seravalli reported that his sources are “very confident” the Swedish blue-liner will sign with Vancouver ahead of the 2025-26 NHL season.

Selected 11th overall by the Canucks in the 2023 Draft, Willander is a steady presence on the back end and totaled a 6-43-49 line across his two seasons with BU.

Sr. forward Matt Copponi signs with AHL’s Bakersfield Condors

Copponi is headed to central California after tallying a 6-18-24 line with the Terriers this season.

The Mansfield, Massachusetts, native signed with the Condors — Edmonton’s AHL affiliate — Tuesday afternoon. Copponi, who transferred to BU after three seasons at Merrimack, was a seventh-round pick of the Oilers in the 2023 Draft.

Boisvert is heading to the Terriers after transferring out of North Dakota, according to Cam Robinson.

A center, Boisvert played his freshman season for the Fighting Hawks, where he led North Dakota in points (32) and goals (18) in 37 games. He was named the NCHC Rookie of the Year.

Mark Divver of the New England Hockey Journal originally reported that Boisvert was bound for either the Terriers or Boston College.

A native of Trois-Rivières, Que., Boisvert was selected 18th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2024 NHL Draft. He’ll be 19 years old when the 2025-26 season begins.

After three seasons with the Fighting Hawks, McLaughlin is heading to BU alongside Boisvert, according to Frank Seravalli.

McLaughlin posted a 5-30-35 line for North Dakota this past season.

Forward Alex Zetterberg enters transfer portal after freshman year

The Swedish forward has entered the portal after one season at BU, according to the Grand Forks Herald’s tracker.

Zetterberg put his skill on display in the first semester, and he finished the year with a 5-3-8 line. But at 5-foot-8, his undersized frame left him out of the lineup for much of the second half, and throughout the Terriers’ run to the national championship game.

Defenseman Jack Page enters transfer portal after senior year

Page became a regular in BU’s lineup this season after rarely seeing ice time in his previous three years, but he’ll be testing the waters of the transfer portal, according to the Grand Forks Herald’s tracker.

The West Chester, Pennsylvania, native skated on the Terriers’ third defensive pairing with Aiden Celebrini down the team’s stretch run, and finished the year with two assists.

Forward Doug Grimes enters transfer portal after sophomore year

Grimes played sparingly in the first half of the year and suffered a season-ending injury in the second semester, and he has entered the portal, according to the Grand Forks Herald’s tracker.

He finished the season with one point — a goal in BU’s 5-2 loss to Maine at Alfond Arena on Nov. 15.
