The University of Minnesota Golden Gophers (26-12-0) and the Western Michigan University Broncos (26-12-1) met today in the Worcester regional finals to battle for a spot in the Frozen Four. With a 3-0 showing, the Gophers are now headed to TD Garden.
The UMass Amherst Minutemen (22-12-2) faced off against the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers (24-12-0) Friday night at the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts in the NCAA Regional Semifinal. The Gophers rallied to take the contest in overtime, advancing to the Regional Final.
It was championship night at TD Garden on Saturday as the UMass Amherst Minutemen (22-12-2, 14-8-2 HE) and University of Connecticut Huskies (20-16-0, 14-10-0 HE) fought for the 2022 Hockey East title. In an overtime thriller, UMass came away with the 2-1 victory.
The 2022 Hockey East Championship kicked off Friday at TD Garden with semifinal action featuring the University of Connecticut, Northeastern University, UMass Amherst, and UMass Lowell. UConn and UMass both took their respective contests to advance to the championship.
The Boston University women’s hockey team began the season with a weekend sweep of the University of New Hampshire, but that would be one of their only two sweeps all season. After initial strong weekends against Northeastern, UNH, and Merrimack, the team struggled to stay consistent and productive for a majority of the year.

After splitting series with Boston College and bottom of the league University of Maine, the Boston University men’s hockey team (19-12-3, 13-8-3 Hockey East) is set to travel to Hartford, Connecticut on Saturday to face the University of Connecticut Huskies (18-15-0, 14-10-0 HE).
