The Terriers toppled UNH 4-1 on the road last night. Here are my three takeaways from the game – all opinions are my own.
All business for BU
Terriers were not interested in celebrating goals last night. Not even a little bit. After Patrick Harper and Trevor Zegras scored, you would have thought they had put the puck in the upper deck. It was a business trip and a chance to put Monday’s loss behind them, and BU’s performance and demeanor were almost robotic in the victory.
Tucker shines in return
After previously sitting out five games, grad goalie Sam Tucker came in to replace freshman Ashton Abel in the Beanpot Final, and when Tucker got the start on Friday in Durham, it looked like he never missed a beat. Tucker made 26 saves, including fending off UNH’s fast start and preventing a comeback late.
Another shot at a sweep
BU hasn’t had a two-win series sweep in almost a year, the last of which came against a struggling UVM side. In order to earn the full four points against a respectable opponent in UNH, BU will need to finish the job on home ice tonight. Right now, a sweep would be massive for the Terriers both in the standings and in the locker room.
