After a tough weekend at Agganis Arena that saw Albie O’Connell’s Terriers tie Northern Michigan on Friday after leading 4-1 to start the third period before losing the grudge match by a 4-3 final on Saturday, BU fell outside of the USCHO’s top-20 in its latest Division I rankings.
BU opened its season with an exciting 7-3 win over Union two weeks ago, which was enough for the Terriers to draw into the top-20 as the 20th-ranked team. O’Connell’s group remained in the rankings even during what was essentially a “bye” week that saw no game action for the team. However, this past weekend’s winless results coupled with Minnesota’s two-game sweep of Niagara was enough to push the Terriers to the outside.
BU will look to bounce back this weekend as they open their Hockey East schedule, traveling to UMass Lowell on Friday night before returning to Agganis to take on New Hampshire on Saturday night.
