Colby Cohen
On Maine’s two goals after BU killed off the 5-on-3:
I think guys did a good job tonight really not getting rattled about it. I think even at 2-2, I think guys started playing composed. We kind of put our foot down on the pedal at 2-2, and we sort of took the game over. I think we did that all night. I mean, 2-2, 4-2, 4-3 and then 7-3. I think guys just sort of had that mentality that it doesn’t matter what phase of the game it is, we’re really going to take it to them.

On his goal:
Hey, when they’re going in, they’re going in. So I guess I’ll take it, right?

On the play of BU’s defense:
I think, despite giving up four goals, one of them was just an unlucky bounce off Max’s stick. I think their third goal, I turned it over trying to feed it to the winger, and they got a goal off a scramble. But I think, as a whole, the D was pretty solid tonight. They had a lot of line rushes which we really played correctly and kept them to the outside. Millan was good. He made all the saves. I mean, when it’s a tight game, your goalie makes two or three big saves for you and that’s the difference in the game right there. Kieran’s been awesome. The other D were pretty good tonight, too.

On how Maine’s top line matches up with other teams:
They’re right there with any line. Nyquist has a lot of patience. He’s a shifty player. You have to be careful when you have him coming 1-on-1. His linemates work hard. On the power play, they really seem to want to force it into him. They have some good players, so I’m sure they’ll come out hard and ready to go tomorrow night, so we’ll have to match their intensity.

Ross Gaudet
On his two goals:
Well, I mean, Nick’s one of the best playmakers in the country, and then Joe is one of the hardest workers also. Just having Nick on the ice is a big deal. The defense is obviously looking at him because they’ve seen what he’s done in the past. It opens the ice up for me and Joe a little bit. Fortunately, Joe made a great pass to me tonight on the first goal. The second one he went to the net hard. So, me and Joe have just been working well together. We’ve been getting lucky.

On getting in shape to earn a spot on the team:
I had a good summer with Mike Boyle, our trainer. Got in pretty good shape and then I got hurt in the beginning of the year, which set me back a little bit. Working with Mike this summer makes it easier for me. Fortunately, since I’m from around here, I’m here the whole summer. Just training under him makes my world a lot easier.

On his shooting percentage:
I guess I know when to shoot it. I’ve been getting lucky. They’ve been going in for me when I’ve been shooting. I don’t know what to say.

On coming out with intensity again the next night:
I think we definitely learned our lesson when that happened [against UNH]. We’re playing with a lot of confidence right now. We know tonight was a big two points, but I think we already put it behind us and we’re looking forward towards tomorrow. It’s going to start with our pregame skate and we’ll take it from there.
