Following a decisive 7-2 victory on Friday night, the Boston University Terriers men’s ice hockey team (6-3-0, 4-2-0 Hockey East) returned home to Agganis Arena and came away with a 5-1 victory against the University of Massachusetts Minutemen (5-5-1, 1-5-0 HE) in their first Hockey East weekend sweep of the young season.
The Boston University men’s hockey team (5-3-0, 3-2-0 Hockey East) faced the UMass Amherst Minutemen (5-4-1, 1-4-0 HE) tonight at Mullins Center to resume conference play.

Whether he’s recording stats, picking up pizza at T Anthony’s, perfecting the warm-up mix, or suiting up and stepping in, graduate goaltender Patrick Schena has done it all. And while most Terriers have followed a pretty traditional path to the locker room at Agganis Arena, Schena’s was anything but ordinary.
In the wake and reflection of the epic highs and lows of the 2021-2022 Terrier hockey season and an exciting postseason across the country, it’s not easy to point out exactly where things went wrong. For a squad of mostly returning players from last year’s NCAA berth, even despite the COVID year, the potential for the perfect storm was there. It was the 100th year of BU Hockey, and if there was any year to make history this was it.
