From the FreeP: Terriers more good than lucky to walk away with tie after being down 3-1

NORTH ANDOVER — Say what you want about ties.

They don’t solve anything. They’re a waste of a perfectly good hockey game. They only leave you frustrated. They’re like kissing your sister.

Just don’t tell that to the No. 1 Boston University men’s hockey team after the Terriers gladly exited Lawler Arena with one point following Saturday night’s 3-3 stalemate with Merrimack College.

BU headed into the second intermission trailing for the first time this season as the Warriors rode two early power-play tallies to a 3-1 lead after two periods. However, BU coach Jack Parker wouldn’t allow the Terriers to sit and lay down in what could have been the final frame, especially after what he believed to be two solidly played frames from BU.
