The Terriers found themselves in a 3-0 hole after the first 30 minutes of the game. However, tallies from sophomore defensemen Dante Fabbro and Chad Krys, and sophomore forward Patrick Harper put BU within one goal.

While the Big Red couldn’t seal the game with two empty-netter chances, the Terriers were unable to tie up the game and fell for the first time in the biennial Thanksgiving weekend matchup.

BU will resume Hockey East conference play this weekend with a series against its crosstown rival, No. 14 Boston College. The first game will take place at Conte Forum on Friday and then at Agganis Arena on Saturday.

  1. Tough loss. It’s very frustrating because on any givin night players are going to make mistakes and the end result is usually not in the back of the net, unfortunately for us when we make a mistake it has lead to a goal. I think we are playing to tight. If you are afraid to make a mistake sometimes that’s worse then making the mistake. We get jumpy with the puck below the face off dots 2 of Cornell’s goals came from blown coverage or turnovers down low and there was not much jake could do. I think we need to develop quicker break outs which can spread the ice out. Our best weapon is our speed we play better when we are comfortable and using our speed. For some reason we are over thinking the game. I believe we are ready to make a run. Folks I hope no one comes on here today to complain about Jordan he was great this weekend. He really stood out. Also Fabro and Krys were great on D. Fabro was critical of himself but he has not been beat one on one all season. krys has been solid on D and is a one man break out which is huge since I see that as our biggest weakness. I’m going to keep the faith as I know this team is close to being the team I think they can be. Go bu

  2. We came close to tying with relentless pressure, even after being down 3-0 and 4-1 the team showed resilience and determination, when a lesser team would have folded their tent. We had a big hole to dig out of, and almost did so. Two early minor defensive missed coverages cost us dearly, and in spite of creating a myriad of class “A“ scoring opportunities we remained snake bitten. The team was well prepared, and for large periods of time dominated a very big, fast, and talented 8-1 Cornell team. We clearly have uniquely gifted position players, and elite goaltending; hence the frustration Colin noted. I too believe that we are on the verge of overcoming the intangibles that have so far thwarted a consistent manifestation of our true capability; e.g., we have played on par with two of the best teams in the country, and recently overwhelmed Maine, after having lost to them the night before.

It was a pleasure to meet and greet old friends, and it was especially nice to talk with Colin Doherty and Glenn Staub; whose insights and opinions I greatly respect.

Keep the faith – Go Terriers!

  3. We need a goalie!!! Jake is a shell of himself last year. 3 out of their 4 goals should’ve never happened! and we would’ve won. End of story.

  4. Sean u really think 3 if those 4 goals were Jake’s fault no disrespect buddy u didn’t watch the same game … Go look at the tape and u will see very bad breakdowns and guys in alone … Goalie is the least of our issues … Besides Joseph woll from bc name a better goalie then Jake… Again i respect your opinion… I have been there for every game home and away I see it up close and he is not to blame to much loose coverage and mental break DOWNS .. Go bu

  5. Greenway can give us a Christmas present by leaving over the break. Just watch how (in)visible he is vs BC.

  6. Hi Paul, Big Roy and Colin … it was a pleasure to finally meet you as well! I hope you enjoyed your time here in NY. I am excited about this coming BC weekend. Good things will happen! Who better to serve as the turning point in our season than BC?

  7. Our goalie can not stop high shot high glove at all. We need another goalie for next year or second semester. For anyone who can not see this you don’t know anything about hockey. Sorry for having to say that but this has been going on for two years. Other problems for sure but the goalie situation is most pressing.
